Reflecting the highly centralized organization of Ford Motor Company prior to World War II, staff from the Superintendent's Office were responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assembly, manufacturing, and sales branches across the country and around the world. Staff in the Superintendent's Office also summarized and distributed production, assembly, cost, and labor data to various staff in Dearborn, Michigan, on a weekly and monthly basis to aid in production scheduling, purchasing, and labor analysis.
