Kuyper, Abraham, 1837-1920
Variant namesAbraham Kuyper graduated from the University of Leyden. He taught Hebrew and Dogmatic Theology at the Free University in Amsterdam. In 1884 Kuyper broke with the Dutch Reformed Church. He was a major force in the Calvinist Reformed Church in both the Netherlands and the United States. In 1898 he came to the United States to deliver the Stone Lectures. While in the States he was honored at a dinner in Holland, Michigan.
