A native of Arkansas, James Thompson is currently a resident of Detroit. On November 30, 1967, he retired as Command Master Sergeant from the United States Army. He is the author of True Colors, based upon his experiences a POW during the Korean Conflict. He is also a veteran of WWII and Vietnam. He received a degree in Business Administration from Northwood Institute in Midland, Mich. He is president of Detroit-Metro Contracting Company and Treasurer of Citizens for Better Government. He is also a member of the Indianhead Military Association and the Optimist International Service Club.
