L'Engle, William Johnson, 1832-1861
Variant namesWilliam Johnson L'Engle was a physician in Key West, Fla., who served in the United States Army in the Department of the Pacific, 1856-1861. He died suddenly in Birmingham, Ala., while awaiting his commission as a Confederate Army surgeon. His wife was Madeleine Saunders L'Engle.
