Chapter of the international organization, the Spanish Dance Society, founded in South Africa in 1965, to set a standard for Spanish dance instruction and performance. The USA chapter was founded in 1982 by Marine Keet Grut, who moved to the USA in 1981. She has taught dance in Europe, the USA, and at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Nancy Sedgwick is the Society's executive director.
