Dane Gordon is Professor Emeritus in Philosophy at Rochester Institute of Technology. He taught philosophy for over thirty-five years at RIT and serves as the University Historian. Gordon holds degrees from Trinity College, Cambridge, London University and the University of Rochester. He has published several books, including "Rochester Institute of Technology: Industrial Development and Educational Innovation in an American City". The first edition was published in 1982 which included the Institute's history from it's beginnings in 1829 through 1982. The second edition includes expanded content with the addition of coverage for 1983 to 2006.
