Waugaman, Candy
Variant namesCandace "Candy" Waugaman, an Alaska resident since the late 1960's, has collected historical postcards and photographs, ephemera such as travel brochures, sheet music, books, and memorabilia from Alaska and the Yukon for over 20 years. Her personal collection numbers over 40,000. Ms. Waugaman's collection has been featured by the Anchorage Museum of History and Art for an exhibit, "Gold Fever in the North." She serves as volunteer and board member for several nonprofit agencies including Secretary of the Tanana-Yukon Historical Society and President of the Alaska Historical Sociey (2002). She recently worked on the Organization Committee for the International Symposium on Mining. A real estate broker by trade, Ms. Waugaman lives in Fairbanks. [From: MS 156.].
