Jones, Adoniram J. (Adoniram Judson)
Civil War soldier from Illinois.
Jones, born in Jefferson County, was a teacher when he enlisted under the name, Anderson J. Jones, in Company E, 136th Illinois Infantry on 20 May 1864 in Centralia, Ill. He was discharged on 22 October 1864 in Springfield, Ill. In January 1863, he was in Nashville, Tenn., apparently serving as an assistant to Reverend Lewis Raymond, chaplain of the 51st Illinois Infantry.
