Neathery, James Hansell, 1895-1964.
James Hansell "Hank" Neathery was born August 3, 1895 to John M. and Georgia W. (Hayes) Neathery of Van Alstyne, Tex. He attended the Georgia School of Technology and began working in the tractor and farm equipment industry in 1917. In 1924 he accepted a sales position at Thompson Machinery Company, Inc. in Plaquemine, La., where he remained for the next 36 years. In 1927 Neathery was married to Willie Mae Meshaw (b. March 4, 1904) of Ruston, La. They had two sons, James (1931) and William (1934). He was also a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, the Masonic Lodge, and was particularly active in the Plaquemine Rotary Club, serving as its president from 1950-1951. Neathery was a founding member of the Deep South Farm and Power Equipment Association and in 1963 he was made a Lifetime Director. Neathery died August 30, 1964.
