Burgess family.
Henry Burgess (1781-1863) was a British inventor, economist, commercial investor, and editor. One of his sons, Charles Henry Burgess (1806-1854), was the first British subject to export goods directly from England to Persia. Another son, Edward (1810-1855), lived in Persia and became a tax collector there. Their brother, George Burgess (1817-1900), emigrated to America in 1840 and became an importer, largely of linen and threads.
