Bishop Polk Benevolent Society.
The Bishop Polk Benevolent Society was a charitable organization associated with Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans, La. It was named in honor of Leonidas Polk, Bishop of Louisiana, who became rector in 1855 and served for five years. In 1864, Polk died in battle as he fought in the Confederate Army.
