Foote, Enoch, 1770-1856

Enoch Foote was born on May 2, 1770, the son of John Foote and Deborah Hoyt. In 1791, he married Abigail Brooks, a widow; they had four children: Elanson, Charles, Mary Ann, and Peter. Before and during the War of 1812, Foote was an officer in the Connecticut Militia, and at one time presided over the 4th Cavalry Regiment. In 1822 and 1831, he served in the Connecticut General Assembly as a representative from Bridgeport. Enoch Foote died on March 14, 1856.
