American Red Cross. Thurston-Mason Chapter
Thurston County Chapter of the American Red Cross was formed in 1917 in Olympia, Wash. It merged with Mason County Chapter in 1966 and was renamed Thurston-Mason Chapter. The chapter was involved in activities aiding war efforts during both World War I and World War II . The Thurston County Gray Ladies chapter was created in 1941 and helped with numerous personal services, clinic work, and recreation at local hospitals and nursing homes.
