Humer family.
Samuel Humer, a resident of Cumberland County, Pa., was private of Company B of the 158th Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry, from November 1, 1862 to August 12, 1863 when the regiment was mustered out. The 158th was stationed in New Bern, N.C., Fortress Monroe, Va. and in July of 1863 it took the pursuit of Lee. On Dec. 8, 1864, Samuel Humer married Mary C. Mowry of Lurgan Township.
