Aylward, James F. (James Francis), 1862-1940.
Lawyer, politician, actor and director.
James Aylward graduated from Boston College in 1884 and Harvard Law School in 1887. He was active in Cambridge city government and local Democratic Party politics. Later, Aylward became a congressman in the Massachusetts state legislature and in his last year in office served as the minority party leader. As a college student and an adult, Aylward participated in amateur theater as both an actor and a director. He died on June 13, 1940.
