Born 1894 in Galesburg, Illinois. In 1910, family moved to Yakima Valley in Washington State and began an apple business named Sunnyslope Orchards. Known also as active civic and community leader in Yakima. Later served as member of Atomic Energy Commissions Personnel Advisory Board for the Hanford nuclear project and also a former director of the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Seattle Branch.
