Sumner Archibald Cunningham (1843-1913) of Tennesee was the founder and editor of the Confederate Veteran (Nashville, 1893-1932). Cunningham served in the Confederate army in Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi. After the war he was an editor and agent for the Jefferson Davis Memorial Fund. Confederate Veteran was the official organ of the United Confederate Veterans, Daughters of the Confederacy, and Sons of Confederate Veterans.
