Frank Louis Norton (1846-1891), was born and educated in Connecticut. He pursued a career as a member of the clergy with the Episcopal Church. He was assistant Rector of St. John's Parish in Troy, New York, and later served as Dean of the Cathedral of All Saints, in Albany, New York. Norton also composed music and published multiple times. He married Jane Huntington Watkinson of Middletown, Connecticut. Watkinson family wealth and affluence, afforded the Norton's a very comfortable lifestyle. The Norton's built two homes: a primary residence at 6 Elk Street, Albany, New York, and a summer residence, Notleymere House, in Cazenovia, New York.
