Unfortunately, little is known about how St. Michael’s Anglican Church was formed. What is known is that St. Michael’s was a loose-knit congregation with no church building of its own. The records indicate that the congregation met in the Hutton Building for a time. They also met, beginning in May 1987, in the Church of the Resurrection on the corner of Olympic and North Haven. Every third Sunday of the month, St. Michael’s would conduct a service there, joined by members of the existing Church of the Resurrection congregation.
St. Michael’s became inactive when the presiding rector, Father Potter, was forced to resign on account of health concerns. Curt Messex administered the congregation’s funds during this time of inactivity. Thereafter, one can only assume that the congregation dissolved or that its members joined area churches as St. Michael’s was never reactivated.
