Theophilus Hastings, 7th Earl of Huntingdon served as captain of the Band of Gentlemen Pensioners (the band of forty gentlemen, now known as gentlemen-at-arms, who acted as guards or attendants to the sovereign at state occasions) in 1682-1688.
