Foster, Charles, 1802-1889

English immigrant to the United States. Illustrator and agricultural journalist who wrote about important events and sketched impressions of life in the United States. After living in New York City, Monroe, Mich., and Chillicothe and Cincinnati, Ohio, he settled in Marion County, Tenn., where he became a farmer and land speculator.
