John Nash McIntosh (1783-1843) was born near Savannah, Georgia, the son of General John and Sarah Swinton McIntosh. According to the family Bible, his full name was John Hugh Nash McIntosh. He was appointed at Darien as captain in the 4th U.S. Infantry in 1808; he served in the War of 1812. When he resigned from the army in 1920, John was a Major in the 8th U.S. Infantry. After his resignation, he became Superintendent of the Custom House at Brunswick. He was married in 1820 to Sarah Ann (Sally) Rokenbaugh. William Swinton McIntosh (1841-1904) was a son of John Nash McIntosh. He served in the Civil War in the 5th Georgia Cavalry. At the time of his death, he was city clerk and Treasurer and Clerk of the County Board of Commissioners in Darien, Georgia. He married Ida Sutherland Tally in 1878. They were the parents of Olin Tally McIntosh. John McQueen McIntosh was the oldest son of John Nash McIntosh. He never married. Lachlan H. McIntosh was descended from William McIntosh through his son, Lachlan. He was a Major in the Confederate States Army. After the Civil War, he worked in the U.S. Geological Survey in Washington.
