Stewart family.

The Stewart, Van Akin and Seymour families were among the earliest settlers to Shiowassee County, Michigan. Members of the family have lived in Michigan since 1834, and both Damon and Charles Stewart served in the Civil War. Other notable family members include James Seymour, a chemistry professor and Hattie Seymour Armstrong, who served as a missionary to Armenians in Harpoot, Turkey at the turn of the twentieth century.
