The Education Commission is an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention temporarily established by action of the Convention in 1915, changed to permanent status in 1917, replaced by the Education Board in 1919, and re-established in 1928. The Commission is liaison between the Southern Baptist Convention and Baptist Colleges all of which are owned and operated by individual Baptist state conventions.
