Heywood, Alba, 1895-1921.

Heywood Brothers brought in Louisiana's first oil well in Jennings area in 1901. Alba was actively involved in the oil business there. Before coming to Louisiana, he toured the country with the Alba Heywood Concert Company, an organization of 50 minstrels. After leaving Louisiana, he settled in San Benito, Texas, where he played an important role in the organization of the city.
