Willard Richards Smith was born 20 November 1884 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Fielding Smith and Sarah Ellen Richards. He and his wife Florence had six children. Willard died 11 September 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Florence Grant Smith was born 7 February 1888 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Heber Jeddie Grant and Lucy Stringham. She married Willard Richards Smith 3 February 1910 in Salt Lake City. Florence died 6 March 1977 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
