Florida Children's Commission
The Florida Children's Commission was created in 1947 (Ch. 23810, Laws) to research the needs of the state's children and youth; to review legislation concerning children and youth; to appraise the availability, accessibility, and adequacy of services for children and youth; and to encourage and foster local community action through County Children's Committees. The Commission provided no actual services; its main function was to be a clearinghouse and coordinator for other agencies. The Commission was abolished in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).
