Charles Edward Allen, III, was born in Demopolis, Ala., on Sept. 1, 1926. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in December 1950 and was assigned to the Intelligence and Reconnaissance platoon, Headquarters Company, 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He first entered Korea in April 1951 and left in February 1952. While in Korea, he was awarded the combat infantry badge, the Korean service medal with one bronze star, the distinguished unit badge and the United Nations service medal with overseas bar.
