Indiana University alumna and lecturer.

After earning her BA at Florida State College for Women, Smith went on to do graduate work at Columbia University where she earned a MA in English literature in 1915. While at Columbia she met Henry Lester Smith, Dean-elect of Indiana University's School of Education, who was there completing work towards his PhD. The two were married in 1915 and returned to Bloomington where Smith went on to earn a MS in Education and shortly thereafter, a PhD in Psychology. Smith served as a lecturer for the IU Extension Division and was active in numerous civic organizations, especially those that catered to women, promoted education, or did both. Smith died 17 July 1977 at the age of 88.
