Hide Profile

In 1945, Ben R. Donaldson became Director of Advertising Department in the Sales and Advertising Division. Walter E. Blanchard was the Assistant Advertising Manager for the Sales and Advertising Division. Part of Blanchard's files contain information on the Liberty Bell fleet. In support of the United States Treasury's 1950 Savings Bond Independence Drive, an exact replica of the original Liberty Bell was created and mounted on specifically decorated Ford series F-5 Trucks supplied by Ford Motor Company. Forty-nine replicas participated in the "Tour of the Bells" which covered every state and Washington D.C.
