National Association of Marine Engineers.
The National Association of Marine Engineers was founded in the 1880s. Its membership included the steamship and associated workers employed by companies such as British Yukon Navigation Company, Canadian National Railways, Canadian National Steamship Company and Shell Oil of British Columbia. The NAME was affiliated with the Canadian Brotherhood of Railway and Transport Workers prior to its merger with the Canadian Merchant Service Guild in 1966.
