Barbara Jones was a graduate student at the University of Delaware, completing her master's degree in 1964. She wrote her M.A. thesis on Deborah Logan. Jones was a member of the guiding staff of Winterthur Museum.
Deborah Norris Logan (1761-1839) was the daughter of Charles and Mary Parker Norris. She married George Logan in 1781. They lived at Stenton, a home built by George's grandfather James Logan. There, the couple entertained many notables of the period.
