American society for aesthetics

The American Society for Aesthetics was organized in 1942 for the promotion of study, research, discussion, and publication in aesthetics and related fields. The Society furthers the study of the arts and related types of experience from a philosophical, historical, critical, and educational point of view.
The society holds an annual meeting, at which papers are read and discussed. Regional divisions of the Society hold local meetings in various cities. The Society also publishes "The Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism."
