Cripps, John S.
John Splate Cripps was the son of Esther De Liesseline and Octavius Cripps (m. April 11, 1816) of South Carolina. His mother later married a man named Monk. In 1856, Cripps was the secretary of legation for the United States in Mexico; he later served as vice consul in Mexico.
