Falkenhorst, Nikolaus von, 1886-
Variant namesNikolaus von Falkenhorst (b. 1885-d. 1968), Colonel General in the German Army, was the Commander in Chief of German troops in Norway. Directly responsible to Hitler, he remained in this command until 1944. He had a reputation for using terror tactics on the Norwegians, was condemned to death after the War, but was spared and released in 1953.
