The Oregon Alliance for Progressive Policy was established in 1989 and ceased operation in 1994. The organization was "a multi-issue coalition that [sought] to increase the power of diverse organizations, promote cooperaton among them, and develop and implement action strategies for progressive political change and social justice." The organization was involved in electing Progressive candidates, promoting economic development in African American communities in Portland, anti-bigotry programs, public education on tax issues, and organizing and training progressive activists and lobbyists.
