Pullman Company. Medicine and Sanitation Dept.
In 1922, the Pullman Company expanded its medical department to undertake physical examinations of all its employees.
By the 1950's, car service employees (porters, conductors, attendants, bus boys) were examined annually and employees in hazardous occupations (exposure to lead, sand blasting) were monitored regularly.
