Chapman, Morris H., 1940-
Southern Baptist pastor, evangelist, and denominational leader, who served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention, 1990-1992. His election continued a long succession of conservative leaders as head of the convention. Chapman was pastor of First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, Texas.
Immediately after his tenure as president of the convention, he was elected the fifth president and chief executive officer of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention.
