David Denslow Ryus was vice president of the American Museum of Natural History from 1972 to 1983.
Ryus received his A.B. in economics and had a long career in business and advertising, including twenty-two years with Time-Life International, before joining the AMNH. At the museum, Ryus was responsible for development, public affairs and membership activities, and served as publisher of Natural history magazine. Ryus also worked with Discovery Tours and developed ideas for new exhibits.
