Coe, Albert Buckner, 1888-1970
Variant namesCoe (1888-1970) was a parish minister of Congregational churches in Somerville, Massachusetts, Waterbury, Connecticut, and Oak Park, Illinois, before becoming president of the Massachusetts Congregational Christian Conference from 1949-1958. He was active in national church affairs, serving on various committees and as Moderator of the General Council of the Congregational Christian Churches of the United States from 1954-1956, during which time the decision was made to merge with the Evangelical and Reformed Church to form the United Church of Christ.
