Cresap, Mary.

At an early age Mary Whitehead of Philadelphia married Michael Cresap, frontier Indian fighter and Revolutionary soldier.

Cresap set up as a trader in western Maryland prior to the War. He died in 1775 while in command of a company of riflemen for the Continental Army. His widow Mary remarried in the early 1780's John J. Jacob, who later became her first husband's biographer.
