Smith, Charles E., 1892-
Charles E. Smith grew up in Oklahoma, when it was still Indian Territory, and started off working as a cowboy before going into ranching and real estate in Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas. He served in the Army during World War I and was involved in the border troubles around El Paso.
