West, Jeanne Sully, 1889-1986
Variant namesA native of New Orleans, La., Jeanne Sully was the daughter of architect Thomas Sully, who designed many large residences and public buildings in the city. She married Dr. John Smyth, who served as a surgeon in the Medical Officers' Reserve Corps during World War I, in 1911. Sully Smyth was active in Red Cross activities and other charitable work in New Orleans during World War I. After her first husband's death, Sully Smyth remarried and became known as Jeanne Sully West.
