In 1935, opened Chatman Hospital for Negroes in Mexia, Texas. In 1939, moved to Lubbock, Texas, and opened Chatman Hospital and Clinic (1945) and Jolyne Nursing Home (1952). Active in the Lone Star State Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association, and the Southeast Lubbock Development Corporation. Died in 1967 in Lubbock, Texas.
