Frank James Mahoney, the son of Walter D. and Jennie Carley Mahoney, was born on March 27, 1890 in Allentown, Connecticut. He died in Randolph, Vermont on May 22, 1984. He was married twice; the second time in Middletown, Connecticut on August 6, 1934. His second wife, Ruth, was also divorced and had several children from her first marriage. He lived in Southington, Connecticut and Randolph, Vermont. He first came to Vermont in the late 1930s, when he was foreman in charge of painting the post office in Northfield. Initially, he traveled back to Connecticut every few weeks, but, in May 1940, he moved to Randolph, Vermont with his wife and children.
