Born in Bohemia, daughter of Anton and Leopoldina (Paroubek) Trinka. Immigrated in 1893 and settled in Lidgerwood, N.D. After summer courses at Valley City State College in 1913, she became the first librarian at the Lidgerwood Public Library, later head librarian at Dickinson, N.D. Began her writing career with two N.D. history books. Returned to Europe in 1936 and left just prior to the German invasion of Czechoslovakia. Her last book was published in 1960. She died at Breckenridge, Minn. and is buried at Lidgerwood, N.D.
