George W. Peters was a leading Mennonite Brethren educator, minister and missiologist. As an educator, he served on the faculty at the Bethany Bible Institute (Hepburn, Sask.), 1932-1945; was president (1947-1952) and Academic Dean (1952-1955) at Pacific Bible Institute in Fresno, Calif.; Academic Dean at Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif., 1955-1960; faculty member at Dallas Theological Seminary, 1962-ca. 1979; and Academic Dean at the Freie Hochchule für Mission at Korntal, Germany. He also served as pastor of the Buhler (Kans.) Mennonite Brethren Church, 1960-1962, and as a long-time board member of Mennonite Brethren Missions/Services.
