Scarbrough, Lemuel A., 1837-1918.
Lemuel A. Scarbrough (1837-1918) was a member of the 13th Tennessee Infantry Regiment. He was wounded in the foot at Shiloh and had to have it amputated, but afterwards served as mail carrier for the soldiers. His brother John Scarbrough was Orderly Sergeant of the company; he too was wounded at Shiloh but apparently not so seriously as Lemuel. Lemuel died in 1918 at the age of 81. Lemuel Scarbrough was twice married and was the father of 14 children-8 by his first wife and 6 by his second.
