Charles D.Y. Ostrom, Jr. was a United States (U.S.) Army officer who entered the Army in 1941. His field of expertise was ammunition and ordnance. He served in ammunition operations in World War II and the Korean War. After these wars, he participated in ordnance research at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) and Picatinny Arsenal. He was also involved in ordnance education. Ostrom retired from the Army in 1972 and wrote on a various ordnance subjects.
