John Enoch Williams ( 1877-197 6) held many positions in the Universalist Convention of North Carolina . He served as secretary-treasurer in 1915, 1916, 1920, and 1922 ; he was president from 1925 to 1928 ; first vice president from 1929 to 1932 ; trustee in 1924, 1933 to 1934 ; and he was secretary in 1913, and from 1936 to 1943 . He is the author of A History of Universalism in North Carolina ( 1968 ).
